我曾经在旅行的途中给不少陌生人拍过照。

I used to take dozens of pictures of strangers I met on my journey.

一张照片上便是我对他们奇妙人生故事的全部解读。

The image on the pictures is my only access to their fabulous life stories.

迫于时间，我的大多数猜想往往难以求证，他们真实的人生又是如何呢？

Though most of my guesses will never be verified due to the limited time, I could not help thinking about how their life would be.

所以我萌发了只通过一张照片去了解一个陌生人的想法。

The idea to get to know a stranger merely through a picture begins to take shape in my mind.

我相信每一个人的身上至少会有两层滤镜。

I believe we get our images through with double filters.

第一层的滤镜来源于我们自己的选择，发色、纹身、服装、香水······我们把对这个世界和自己的理解呈现在我们的外貌上。

The first filter is set by our own choices. The color of our hair, the tattoo, the costume, the perfume···the appearance reveals our understanding of the world and ourselves.

第二重滤镜则来源于他人的评判，影响它的因素要复杂得多。不仅仅与年龄，个人偏好，教育程度，自身阅历或是时代环境相关联。如何评价一个你不认识的陌生人，几乎要动用你所有的人类史概念。

The second filter comes from other people's judgement. It is a much more complex issue influenced greatly by a person’s age, personal preference, educational background and life experience. To make a judgement of a stranger may call for all one’s anthropology knowledge.

所以，在两重滤镜的作用下，我们会不会拥有一个截然不同的人生？是什么让别人对我们做出了这样的判断？我们真实的自己又离呈现出的形象有多远的距离？

Hence, with those double filters, will we have a completely different life story in others’ eyes? Why would it happen? Is it is true that the image we have created far from who really are?

两张照片，两张便笺。我会用最简单的方式来一窥究竟。

I will explore the fact with two pictures and two notes.
