本讲座是对一个计划的总述，并围绕几个核心概念展开。该计划坐落在当今世界最大的小商品市场所在地义乌，聚焦于其跨国交易世界中的塑料制品。义乌提供包括牙刷、包装和防水布在内的必需品，并吸引了来自全球南方的采购者。这些来自义乌的低成本塑料制品塑造了我对塑料这一物质材料的强烈兴趣。考虑到“发达资本主义根基”（戴维斯，1995）之说，塑料是21世纪最被贬低的材料之一。然而，我认为它也是拟态和仿真的材料。假发、假指甲、假胸、假花、仿真水果、仿真植物、仿真土和仿真石充斥着这个市场。我想用这一廉价塑料性的语境来进入关于技术和未来的论争。如果未来已经以索菲亚和萨曼莎这样价值2万美元的高端个人机器人的形态降临，那么未来也以1美元的飞天小仙女、太阳花和棕榈树的形态来临。义乌以它的塑料性和跨国性格而成为一个思考未来的多元性和共时性的场所。

这一计划将包括创造出一个思索性的纪录片环境，以发掘这一复杂的制造和交易的地景，以此作为我们“后人类”未来的实验室。

The presentation is an overview of the project and a few of the core concepts. The project situates itself in the world of transnational trade in plastic goods in Yiwu the largest small-commodity market in the world today. The city provides a range of essential products like toothbrushes, packaging, and tarpaulins, and attracts buyers from across the global South. These low-cost plastic goods of Yiwu form the basis of my interest in plastic as a material. Considered the “substrata of advanced capitalism” (Davis,1995) plastic has been one of the most vilified materials of the 21stcentury.  Yet, I feel that it is also a material of mimesis and simulation. Replicas of human hair, nails, breasts, flowers, fruit, foliage, earth and rock are abundant in this market. I would like to use this context of cheap plasticity to enter the debate on technology and futurity. If the future has come in the shape of Sophia and Samantha, high end personalized robots costing up to $20,000, then the future has also come in the shape of $1 flying fairies, sunflowers, and palm trees. Yiwu, with its plasticity and transnational character, is a site to think of futures of multiplicity and simultaneity.

The project will constitute the creation of a speculative documentary environment that explores this complex manufacturing and trading landscape as a laboratory of our "post-human" future.

Iram Ghufran

是一位以活动影像、声音和文本为工作对象的电影作者和艺术家。她的作品在若干国际艺术和电影语境中出场，包括柏林电影节、印度实验影像节、纽约印度电影节和南亚区域合作联盟电影节等。她正在位于伦敦的威斯敏斯特大学的艺术与媒介研究教育中心中攻读博士学位。

Iram Ghufran is a filmmaker and artist working in moving image, sound and text. Her work has been shown in several international arts and cinematic contexts including the Berlin Film Festival, Experimental India, New York Indian Film Festival and SAARC Film Festival among others. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. by practice at the Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media, University of Westminster, London.
